The tradition of Punturi’s Family in the gastronomic scene of the Capital began in 1880, thanks to the intuitions and commitment of Pietro Punturi.
In the heart of Rione Sallustiano, the delicatessen opened in 1919 in via Flavia is already an institution since the first years after the Second World War.
During the years – generation by generation- the delicatessen evolves: together cold cuts, cheeses of high quality and a good glass of wine, at Punturi’s is possible to taste bakery and pastry products.
The experience gained allowed the expansion of the cheeses production. In 1977, Pietro Punturi – grandson of the founder Pietro – transfers the diary production in the roman countryside of Santa Maria di Galeria: so begins the artisan production of high quality ricotta, pecorino and flavored cheeses, that, with the brand of Santa Maria, carry the name of Punturi out in the European, Canadian and US territories.
Nowadays, from the passion of Paolo Punturi, grandnephew of the first Pietro, born La Bottega: the restaurant, close to the family’s shop, is the synthesis of our history which give us the opportunity to offer unique products both at lunch – with an ad hoc menu selected by our chefs – and dinner, with a menu à la carte that satisfies even the most demanding palates.
At La Bottega you can taste Roman traditional dishes, paired with more than a hundred wine labels from our cellar.
